A man in his twenties was shot on Thursday morning in what seems to be an intentional attack on Beach Boulevard near the University of North Florida campus, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Sergeant Lloyd of the JSO stated that the man was in a car at the junction of Beach Boulevard and Central Parkway. A blue car pulled up beside the man’s vehicle and fired multiple shots, hitting the man in his upper body.
Lloyd has stated that the man’s injuries are not considered to be life threatening at this time.
During the incident, an additional car that was not engaged and the glass of a business were both struck.
The police do not believe that this was an instance of road rage; rather, it looks to have been a deliberate incident. There were no further injuries that were recorded, and the police do not believe that anyone was involved.
The police are now looking for witnesses and any surveillance footage of the incident, as they have not yet apprehended a suspect.
