WPBN: On his way to work, a man from Maryland made a brief stop at a 7-Eleven. He was on his way to work.
According to a press release issued by the Maryland Lottery on December 23, the man from Taneytown made the decision to be extravagant and purchase some lottery tickets once he realized that he had an additional five dollars in his pocket.
Officials from the lottery reportedly stated that after purchasing two scratch-off tickets for $1 and one ticket for $3, he went to his truck in order to scratch his tickets.
There was no one to be found for the two $1 tickets. However, when he scratched the $3 Diamond Bingo ticket, the last bingo card that matched the caller’s number was the one that was drawn, according to information provided by lottery authorities.
After checking the legend, the man, who was unsure of what the match signified, discovered that he had won $30,000, according to officials affiliated with the lottery.
The man told the administrators of the lottery, “I about fell out of the truck. I checked it six times.”
Nevertheless, even a half dozen inspections were not sufficient to guarantee the outcome.
“When I got to work, I checked it again,” he stated.
During his time at work, the man revealed to lottery authorities that he had kept the news of his victory to himself.
“I was definitely in shock,” the man stated.
The winning ticket was displayed to his wife as soon as he arrived home, according to officials from the lottery.

“She also was taken aback,” lottery officials stated.
The individual disclosed to the organizers of the lottery that he began participating in lottery games with his grandmother when he was aged 18. Therefore, he grabbed his ticket and showed it to her as well.
“She cried,” the man stated to lottery officials.
Despite the fact that $30,000 might not be considered “a life-changing” reward, the man who won it told lottery organizers that it is “a big help.”
