Police in Charles County, Maryland, have charged a man with murder and other offenses after he reportedly shot and killed his stepson for failing to finish some of his tasks.
Darshan Eric Williams, 48, has been charged with first-degree assault, second-degree murder, and other connected offenses, according to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.
After receiving a 911 call indicating that Williams had shot his 15-year-old son, law enforcement officers arrived at a residence on La Plata’s Huntt Road.
Officers discovered Williams standing outside the residence when they got there, and they took him into jail without any problems. After entering the house, the authorities found the 15-year-old son, who was not breathing and was comatose.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies saved lives until help could get there.
He was declared dead at the scene, though. According to the results of an initial inquiry, Williams became angry with his stepson for failing to finish some of his household duties.
Williams was accused of first-degree assault, second-degree murder, and additional offenses, such as using a firearm in a violent crime and abusing a child to the point of death.
