Mass Shooting at Local Grocery Store Results in 3 Deaths, 10 Injuries

In a mass shooting that occurred at an Arkansas grocery store on Friday, authorities reported that three people had died and ten had been injured.

The Arkansas State Police reported that the suspect, who was shot by the police, will face charges of capital murder.

According to authorities, at around 11:30 a.m., they were called to the shooting scene at the Mad Butcher grocery shop in Fordyce, which is roughly 70 miles south of Little Rock.

According to authorities, there were three civilian fatalities and eight injuries, with several still critically ill. According to officials, there were two more law enforcement officers shot, although their injuries were not critically dangerous.

The lone suspect was shot by law authorities and treated for non-life-threatening wounds in addition to the 13 individuals who were murdered or injured, according to the police.

The suspect, Travis Eugene Posey, 44, of New Edinburg, has been identified by the Arkansas State Police. He is being held at the Ouachita County Detention Center.

According to authorities, he will face three counts of capital murder in addition to other unspecified accusations. Police indicated the situation was under control.

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas says she had received information on the shooting. According to the FBI, staff members are being dispatched to assist local and state law enforcement.

According to the White House, President Joe Biden has received a briefing about the shooting and will continue to get updates from his team.
