Miami-Dade Store Clerk Critical After Shooting Incident

A convenience store clerk is in critical condition after being shot during a dispute in Goulds on Sunday. The incident took place inside Food Fare near Southwest 215th Street and 109th Avenue, as reported by Miami-Dade Police.

According to the police, the clerk engaged in a verbal argument with another man before being shot. However, the specific reason behind the dispute was not disclosed.

The injured clerk was rushed to Jackson South Hospital in critical condition.

Police responded to the scene and conducted a search for the suspect, leading to a significant police presence at the Cutler Manor apartments across the street.

Eventually, the suspect was apprehended, though details about the exact location of the arrest were not provided.

Romania Dukes from Mothers Fighting for Justice expressed her distress over the incident, stating that there seems to be a trend of people resorting to violence instead of resolving disagreements peacefully.

She emphasized the impact of such incidents on the community, especially when there are children involved.

Notably, Dukes had recently organized a “Walk for Justice” event in the area the day before the shooting, aiming to address the issue of gun violence.
