In the early hours before dawn, a series of tumultuous events unfolded, ultimately ending in tragedy at an adult club in Northwest Miami-Dade.
A heated dispute that began inside Club Lexx escalated beyond words, spilling into the parking lot and resulting in a deadly exchange of gunfire that claimed the life of 32-year-old Shaynea Johnson.
Chaos ensued outside Club Lexx, with tension mounting, voices growing louder, and tempers flaring. What started as an argument within the club soon escalated into violence, shattering the calm of the early morning.
The woman, now identified as Johnson, tragically lost her life after pulling out a firearm and firing shots at a security guard, who responded in kind, ultimately leading to her demise.
This incident occurred at the intersection of 27th Avenue and NW 103rd Street, marked by the sound of gunshots around 3:30 a.m.
In response to urgent calls, the police arrived at the scene and found Johnson in a white Nissan Altima, her life slipping away due to multiple gunshot wounds.
The area quickly became a hub of activity as investigators cordoned it off, searching for clues to piece together the sequence of events that led to this tragic shooting.
As more details emerged, the harsh reality of the violence sent shockwaves through the community.
Family members were left grappling with inconsolable grief. Brenda Dawson, Johnson’s mother, shared her anguish over the irreplaceable loss of her daughter and the void left in the lives of Johnson’s two children.
“I’m just a nervous wreck,” Dawson told reporters, her grief palpable. She recounted the heart-wrenching phone call that delivered the news no mother should ever receive, leaving her with unanswered questions and a future filled with dread over the difficult conversations she would have to have with her grandchildren.
