Two schools in Miami experienced a temporary lockdown when a nearby shooting incident occurred, according to authorities.

Law enforcement officers were dispatched to the scene at around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the vicinity of Northwest 69th Terrace and 17th Avenue.

Upon their arrival, the officers found a man who had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Aerial footage from 7Skyforce showed a significant police presence in the area.

The injured person was later taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where they are currently being treated, and it is anticipated that they will make a full recovery.

Immediately following the gunshot, a black Nissan Maxima, which was alleged to have fled the site and is thought to be connected to the event, was seen driving away.

Both Dorsey Technical College and Liberty City Elementary School were placed on lockdown for a short period of time while the police completed their investigation.

This was done as a preventative measure. These lockdowns were removed only a few minutes before 12:30 o’clock in the afternoon.
