A Miami woman, identified as Miranda Ehren Graham, 46, is facing multiple charges after Miami-Dade police alleged that she attempted to set another woman’s pickup truck on fire and then assaulted an officer during her arrest.
The incident took place just before 3 a.m. on Monday at the Dadeland South Metrorail Station. Police responded to a call reporting a violent dispute between two women.
According to authorities, Graham lit a cigarette and placed it in the gas tank of another woman’s Dodge Ram pickup truck at a nearby Shell gas station.
Shortly after this, 911 dispatchers received another call about a woman, matching Graham’s description and wearing all black, trying to kick in the door of a nearby liquor store.
Upon arrival, the responding officer requested Graham’s identification, but instead of complying, she fled towards the busway.
The officer eventually apprehended her and, during the arrest, Graham resisted by kicking and striking the officer multiple times in the groin area.
After a struggle, Graham was subdued, placed in leg restraints, and transported to a police vehicle. During the transport, she reportedly spat on another officer.
Despite the altercation, Graham did not sustain any injuries. She was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center and is being held on a $21,000 bond.
According to jail records, Graham is charged with three counts of battery on a police officer, two counts of resisting an officer with violence, one count of resisting arrest without violence, and criminal mischief. She resides in Miami’s Little River neighborhood.
