The roommate of an Orlando woman who vanished over two years ago has now been charged with her murder, according to the police.

The Orlando Police Department said that Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez, 42, was arrested on accusations of grand theft, tampering with evidence, and second-degree murder.

Victoria-Gonzalez was the one who first reported 42-year-old Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco missing on December 27, 2022, according to investigators.

According to reports, Victoria-Gonzalez called the police at 1:30 p.m. that day to report that she hadn’t seen her roommate since Christmas. The apartment complex on Curry Ford Road was where the two women had been living together.

Detectives added that as they proceeded to look into Medina-Pacheco’s disappearance, they found many contradictions in Victoria-Gonzalez’s version of events.

Following the execution of a search order at their residence, authorities reported discovering substantial proof that a violent incident had taken place. But no suspects were identified at that time.

Authorities eventually discovered that Victoria-Gonzalez had relocated to Hartford, Connecticut, after the investigation continued to involve numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement organizations.

After speaking with Victoria-Gonzalez again, authorities allegedly found enough evidence to prosecute her with Medina-Pacheco’s murder.
