Authorities said that a 17-year-old girl went missing on Valentine’s Day.

She was nine months pregnant and just a few days away from giving birth when she was discovered dead in a ditch in South Carolina, from “multiple sharp force wounds and multiple stabs and incisions.”

A 62-year-old lady is currently charged with two charges of murder. On Tuesday, the suspect told the judge, “I don’t wanna talk to you,” while Maylashia Hogg’s distraught family watched the court session, which ended without a bond.

Forensic evidence discovered at the suspect’s Barnwell residence connected the defendant, Jacqueline Reid, to the murders of Hogg and her “full-term” unborn child Londyn Charity, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) said.

According to warrants, killings occurred on February 8, the day Hogg was last seen alive. On the day that Maylashia was scheduled to give birth, Valentine’s Day, police issued a missing person alert. On February 18, her body was discovered in a ditch.

Authorities said that Reid killed 40-week pregnant Maylashia S. Hogg by stabbing her repeatedly with a sharp object out of malice and forethought, either explicitly stated or impliedly. “Criminal forensic evidence was discovered at the defendant’s residence during the execution of a search warrant.”

According to the charges, Hogg was last seen “in close proximity to the defendant’s residence and where her body was discovered.” “After an autopsy, the cause of death was identified as multiple stab wounds, multiple sharp force wounds, and multiple incisions.”

Michael Butts, the chief of police in the city of Barnwell, offered his condolences upon Reid’s arrest on Monday, stating that it was his first case as the top cop in the area.

“Maylashia and her baby’s death greatly impacted our community. I want to thank everyone who worked tirelessly to help this investigation,” he stated. “Please keep Maylashia’s loved ones in your thoughts. We must continue to care for each other, to honor Maylashia and Londyn’s memories, and come together to heal.”

“You have to be sick with hate to do someone like that— anybody, better yet a child,” according to her aunt Judy Hogg.

“I just want to know why,” she continued. “And then to know that she was gonna have her baby in less than a day or two. That’s sick.”

Michael Sapp, Maylashia Hogg’s stepfather, broke down in tears in court on Tuesday as he talked about his conversations with Reid throughout the time that they were looking for his “baby.”

“I just can’t believe that she actually did this. I asked her several times have saw Maylashia and she looked right at me and was like ‘no,’ and knowing the whole time that she had did this to my baby,” he stated.

In the courtroom, Reid’s only argument was that she had nothing to say. She said to the judge, “I don’t wanna talk to you.”

According to court documents that Law&Crime Show examined, the suspect’s initial appearance was scheduled for August 26.
