Most Dangerous Neighborhoods in Los Angeles To Avoid

A recent report has highlighted a troubling increase in hate crimes within Los Angeles County, reaching their highest level in 21 years during 2022.

Safety concerns are a significant factor for many when considering relocation. While Los Angeles boasts renowned attributes such as its pleasant climate, vibrant sports and entertainment scene, beautiful beaches, and diverse food offerings, the city’s reputation is marred by crime, with incidents often occurring in broad daylight. Despite these concerns, data from the Los Angeles Police Department indicated a decrease in overall crime last summer compared to the previous year.

PropertyClub’s 2023 report identified the top ten most dangerous neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Here are the findings:

Amidst its high rises and attractions like Crypto.com Arena, Downtown LA’s crime rate is reported to be 530% higher than the national average. Residents face significant challenges due to the homeless crisis, pickpocketing, and frequent robberies.

  2. West Adams

West Adams, a historic area in South LA, has a crime rate where residents face a 1 in 15 chance of being victimized. Common crimes in this neighborhood include gun violence, robbery, assault, and theft.
