Old Town-Chinatown
This neighborhood has a low population but a high crime rate, with 1,010 violent crimes per 100,000 people. This is the official Chinatown of Northwest Portland that straddles West Burnside Street between SW 3rd Avenue east to the river and from SW Stark Street north to W Burnside Street (with some exceptions).
It includes two historic districts: Old Town Historic District (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) and New Chinatown/Japantown Historic District (also listed on the National Register). It is known for its authentic Chinese restaurants, tea houses, markets, museums, gardens, street art, nightlife venues.

Portland is a stunning, multicultural city that provides both locals and tourists with a wealth of options and attractions. It does, however, contain certain locations that provide grave threats to security and safety.
We can enjoy our time in Portland without sacrificing our safety if we are aware of these neighborhoods and take appropriate safety measures when needed.
