WPBN: A woman who had been reported missing in September was found dead, and a guy from South Carolina was taken into custody and charged with her murder.
The charges of murder, kidnapping, and obstructing justice were brought against Daniel Peele, who was taken into prison on December 9 and whose age was not disclosed.
Human remains were discovered on Ruby Road close to Hartsville, some 70 miles northeast of Columbia, and the arrest took place a few days after the discovery.
She was last seen in the Hartsville region on September 25 before she vanished without a trace. The remains were recognized as belonging to Cassidy “Shamra” Felkel, who was 49 years old.
On December 4, 2019, the remains of Felkel were discovered, which was several months after the last time she was seen alive.
It was reported by WPDE that Kasey Wolfe, Felkel’s daughter, had gotten a tip to examine the area on Ruby Road. These instructions were given to her. She contacted a friend to investigate the area, and the buddy discovered human remains by following her instructions.
The bodies were retrieved by deputies of the police department who reacted to the area. WBTW said that the coroner eventually determined that the remains belonged to Felkel and listed the manner of death as homicide following the identification of the remains.
There was a lack of clarity regarding Peele’s relationship with Felkel.
According to the arrest warrant that was acquired by WBTW, Peele is suspected of killing Felkel by strangling her after they had a disagreement first, and then buried her body in a well after the quarrel was over.
Peele’s request for bond was denied by a court, and his arraignment on the accusation of murder is slated to take place on January 22. This individual is being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center at the present time.
