Police claim that a mother from New Jersey killed her two small children in a bathtub, leading to her being charged with murder.
The 27-year-old Naomi Elkins is accused of multiple crimes, including murder and possessing a firearm. Tuesday, Elkins drowned her two daughters, ages one and three, according to the authorities. Police also discovered stab wounds on the infant.
According to NBC Philadelphia, officers were called to Elkins’ Lakewood house, which is an hour south of Newark, on Tuesday night after they received a report that her two children were experiencing cardiac arrest.
The children passed away at the scene despite the efforts of emergency personnel to save them.
Public records from Ocean County state that she is charged with two counts of murder and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon.
Records available to the public show that Elkins is being held without bail. The 27-year-old is a married master’s degree holder. According to NJ.com, her initial hearing is scheduled for this Wednesday afternoon, and then she will have a detention hearing on Monday morning.

Early on Wednesday, no police were present at the location, and crime scene tape was not used to enclose the residence.
One witness on Tuesday night stated, “I saw a ton of police cars and ambulances…I saw someone doing CPR in the ambulance.”
A father attempted to drown his children in the Long Island Sound, according to authorities, and was taken into custody in New Haven, Connecticut, last week.
When a West Haven police officer heard screams on Saturday at 2:30 in the morning while on patrol, the kids were saved. Romney Desronvil and his two kids were in the water when he arrived on the scene. He was apparently advised to keep back by Desronvil.
