Following a sad Fourth of July boating accident in Texas that claimed the life of a new mother, accusations of operating while drunk have been brought against the brother-in-law and another boater.
Jerri MacMeekin, 31, perished in Lake Conroe at approximately 9 p.m. on Thursday after falling off the back of a boat driven by her husband, Kyle MacMeekin, according to Willis, Texas, authorities. The boat collided with another vehicle.
Shane Anniboli, forty-four, was operating the second boat. Anniboli and MacMeekin are both facing charges of operating a watercraft while inebriated.
On Saturday, neither could be reached for comment. More than two hours after she initially went overboard, her body was found.
Authorities said that despite three individuals pursuing her into the river, they were unable to save Jerrie. In March 2021, Jerri and Brandon MacMeeken tied the knot in Dallas.
Jerri announced on Facebook in June that she was expecting a “rainbow baby,” a kid delivered following a miscarriage or the death of a newborn.
