NORTH PORT, Fla. — A man from North Port struck it big when a visit to a gas station resulted in him holding a $1 million ticket from the Florida Lottery.
On Friday, the lottery made the announcement that William Keller, a resident of North Port, had won a $1 million prize from the 500X The Cash Scratch-off game.
Keller purchased the winning ticket for $50 at his local Shell Station located at 14290 South Tamiami Trail in North Port.
Opting for a one-time payment, the North Port resident collected his prize of $820,000 from the Fort Myers District Office. The gas station will also receive a $2,000 bonus for being the seller of the winning ticket.
As per the Florida Lottery, there are only five $1 million prizes remaining in the 500X game. The top prizes of $25 million have already been claimed, with 2 winners in that category.
