After being shut down on Friday morning as a result of a fatal collision, the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near State Route 84 have started to reopen.

Approximately seven hours passed during which the lanes remained closed.

A tractor-trailer and a Nissan Altima were involved in the collision, which occurred at approximately 6:30 in the morning.

It has been reported by the Florida Highway Patrol that the driver of a Nissan was operating in the inside center lane when, for some unknown cause, she collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer.

Following that, both vehicles headed in the direction of the median. It was then that the tractor-trailer went over it, flipped onto its roof, and caught fire.

It has been reported by the Florida Highway Patrol that the driver of the tractor-trailer has passed away.

Because of the accident, the lanes were closed for several hours, which resulted in a traffic congestion that stretched for several miles.
