The 40-year-old Manuel Carrasco-Camacaro is presently being prosecuted on two counts of first-degree murder. He had once been romantically involved with one of the victims.
After the suspect was identified in May, investigators launched a manhunt for him, thinking he was going to a state bordering the south, notably one where he had connections to Austin, Texas.
After receiving alerts from Orange County detectives, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office carried out the search. At the moment, Manuel Carrasco-Camacaro is being held at the Orange County Jail without bond.
After being taken into custody, the suspect appeared before an Orange County court for the first time on Saturday.
The case moves forward while the judicial proceedings take place and the suspect stays in custody. The local community as well as the victims’ relatives have been greatly impacted by this arrest, which marks a significant development in the case.
