Orlando Residents Express Fear and Demand Change After Drug Bust

Neighbors on Greenwood Street in Orlando are expressing concerns about a house that was recently raided for drugs. On Tuesday night, residents from Lake Davis gathered at the Beardall Senior Center to voice their desire for safety and change.

The drug bust that occurred in their neighborhood on Friday prompted the community to unite and demand action. Neighbor Robert Koch emphasized the need for change and improved communication regarding the troubling situation.

During the Lake Davis Neighborhood Association’s regular monthly meeting, they sought help from Orlando Police Officer Eddie Rosado and City Commissioner Patty Sheehan following the drug raid.

Four individuals, including 40-year-old Randal Healy Clark, were arrested, but the home’s owner, Jane Healy, was not taken into custody.

Jane Healy is known as the former managing editor of the Orlando Sentinel and co-chair of the Orange County Tourist Development Tax Citizens Task Force.

City Commissioner Patty Sheehan was present during the Friday night raid and expressed her concern about drugs being dealt in the neighborhood.

Some residents stated that they are genuinely afraid of the individuals involved in the drug-related activities.

Robert Koch, a neighbor with young children, stressed the ongoing nature of the issue, raising worries about neighborhood safety.

In response to the situation, Orlando officials are exploring additional options to address the problem posed by the house that has been a source of complaints for years. The possibility of pursuing the public nuisance process is being considered.

Orlando police emphasized that their investigation is still ongoing, and there may be more arrests in the future.
