A trooper who was not on duty passed away, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. Trooper Peter K. Conforti passed away, according to a statement sent by state police on Thursday on Facebook and the social media site X.
Conforti was employed by Hamburg, Berks County’s Troop L. April 2016 saw him enlist with the state police. Regarding his death on Thursday, state police did not provide any other information.
State police said on X, “He served with honor and integrity and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”

Law enforcement and the public expressed their condolences on Facebook following the announcement of his death by state police. Numerous individuals expressed gratitude to him for his service and sent their condolences to his family.

The Delaware State Police Facebook page left a note in the comments, saying, “Our sincere condolences to Trooper Conforti family, colleagues, and friends.”
The Maryland Elkon Police Department replied on the post, saying, “The Elkton Police Department extends their deepest sympathies to all who knew Trooper Conforti.”
Public announcement of the funeral plans has not yet occurred.
