Philly Woman Charged After Making Threats and Exposing Herself During Flight

A Philadelphia woman, Dulce Huertas, has been charged for allegedly making threats to kill multiple passengers and exposing herself during a Frontier Airlines flight from Orlando to Philadelphia in November 2023, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Huertas, 60, faces charges of interference with flight crew members and attendants, simple assault, and indecent exposure. The criminal complaint states that Huertas was served two alcoholic drinks by flight attendants during the journey.

As the flight was preparing to land, Huertas reportedly left her seat, claiming she needed to use the restroom. When instructed to remain seated, she began yelling and cursing at a flight attendant before eventually sitting down.

Upon landing and during the taxi to the gate, Huertas continued her disruptive behavior, cursing at fellow passengers. Despite flight attendants calling for security, her actions escalated.

Upon reaching the gate, Huertas allegedly pushed past passengers to move to the front of the plane. Attempting to access the front bathroom, she was stopped by flight attendants disarming the cabin door. In response, Huertas apologized and, according to the complaint, exposed herself in the aisle, although she did not urinate.

With children nearby, Huertas continued her aggressive behavior, standing up, cursing at passengers, and attempting to bypass flight attendants. Despite her attempts, she was unable to get past the cabin crew.

The criminal complaint notes that if convicted, Huertas could face a maximum sentence of 21 years and three months in prison, along with three years of supervised release and a $355,000 fine. The case is currently under investigation by various federal agencies.
