Authorities in Southern California said that a six-minute police pursuit resulted in a two-vehicle collision early on Friday, killing four persons.
Around 1:45 a.m. on Friday, San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies started following a driver they believed to be intoxicated after the car refused to stop for a traffic stop and failed to yield.
For six minutes, the motorist avoided the oncoming deputies and a sheriff’s helicopter by driving at a fast pace.
According to a news statement from the sheriff’s department, deputies later learned that the Hyundai had been reported stolen and that one of the deceased had a loaded revolver in his hands.

The sheriff’s department said that the 2018 Hyundai and the 2010 Ford Mustang collided at a junction in Upland, which is located more than 33 miles (53.11 kilometers) east of downtown Los Angeles. After then, the Hyundai struck a pole, broke into three pieces, and caught fire.
The five male occupants of the Hyundai were forced out of the car, according to the sheriff’s office. One of the boys, thirteen, was sent to the hospital after four of them were declared dead at the scene. It is anticipated that he will live.
As a precaution, the driver and passenger of the Mustang, a 35-year-old male and a 21-year-old woman, were taken to the hospital. The identities of the inmates remained a secret.
