An individual has been apprehended in connection with a rollover crash that blocked both lanes of the Venetian Causeway on Saturday afternoon.
Miami Beach Police have identified the arrested person as 18-year-old Alan Morales Pastrana. He faces charges of fleeing and eluding a police officer, possession of crystal methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of reckless driving, one involving damage to property.
It is yet to be confirmed whether Pastrana was the driver responsible for the crash.
The incident occurred at the intersection of East Dilido Drive and the Venetian Causeway, according to a statement from the Miami Beach Police.
Videos shared on social media, as reported by NBC6, depict a dark-colored SUV overturned with significant damage and a small sedan wrecked with debris scattered around.
A third video captures a man being escorted in handcuffs by police, although Miami Beach Police have not verified if the individual in the video is indeed Pastrana.
Authorities have confirmed that one person was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center for a medical assessment, but the condition of the individual has not been disclosed.
