Rapper Sean Kingston and his mother entered a not guilty plea on Monday to allegations of scamming over $1 million worth of businesses.
At an arraignment session before Broward Circuit Judge Ernest Kollra, Kingston—real name: Kisean Anderson—and his mother, Janice Turner, submitted the pleas, according to the Sun Sentinel.
Kollra did not alter the bond amount, which was already established at $90,000 during an earlier hearing, according to the newspaper.
Both the performer and his mother entered a not guilty plea to accusations of grand theft and organized fraud.
Following a SWAT team raid on his Southwest Ranches house, Kingston was first taken into custody in Fort Irwin, California, in May pursuant to a warrant issued by the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
According to arrest warrants, Kingston, 34, and Turner, 61, were charged with cheating a jewelry company, a luxury bed company, a used luxury and exotic automobile dealership, and a luxury microLED TV firm between October 2023 and now.
The publication stated that Kingston and his mother are anticipated back in court on October 11. Federal court has charged them with similar offenses as well.
