Detectives from Seattle Police are looking for the person who stole the automobile of an 80-year-old dog walker, dragged her, and then ran her over with her own vehicle on Tuesday morning.

Police were called to a Seattle neighborhood just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, in response to reports of a carjacking. A woman in her 80s was receiving CPR from a bystander when police arrived.

Authorities claimed that she was declared dead despite attempts to save her life. The woman was identified by the police as a dog walker in the area.

She was fatally injured after being dragged by her car during the carjacking and struggle. Several onlookers made vain attempts to step in and help.

Dynan reported to the police that she heard the fight between the man and the dog walker while she was inside her home.

“I heard some commotion and screaming. It sounded like a crash,” A neighbor who saw the carjacking, Laura Dynan, stated. According to Dynan, the suspect had already taken over the victim’s blue SUV by the time she managed to escape.

As Dynan watched the suspect run over the woman with her SUV, she noticed that a man was pursuing the carjacker with what appeared to be a baseball bat while the woman lay bleeding on the street.

“He was a plumber working in the neighborhood who happened to have a bat on him who was trying to save her,” Dynan stated.

According to Dynan, some of the dogs inside the stolen SUV were set free when the plumber attempted to break out the rear glass and cracked the front windshield.

Police were called to a park later in the afternoon after it was reported that a dead dog with stab wounds had been discovered close to a blue recycling bin. The abandoned stolen SUV was found next to the dead dog, according to the police.

The culprits are being vigorously sought for by Seattle Police, yet no one has been taken into custody. According to Dynan, the woman most likely perished while attempting to save the animals under her care.

“All the dogs that were in the car were not hers. They were other people’s in the neighborhood, and she was trying to protect them, I’m sure,” Dynan stated.

The Seattle Police Department is urging anyone with information leading to the suspect’s location to get in touch with them.
