Security Guard Shot in Leg Incident Report from Hueytown, Alabama

HUEYTOWN, Ala. — In the early hours of Saturday morning, a security guard at a business in Hueytown was shot in the leg.

The incident occurred at around 2:30 a.m., and the Hueytown Police Department promptly responded to the shooting report at the location on Medland Circle.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that the security guard had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg.

Initial findings from the investigation indicate that while the security guard was conducting a check of the business, he encountered a group of unidentified individuals who subsequently opened fire.

Immediately following the shooting, the suspects quickly fled the scene.

Additional support was requested from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, which conducted an extensive search using a K9 unit and drone.

Unfortunately, the suspects were not located. The injured security guard was transported to UAB Hospital, where he received medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries before being discharged.
