Shocking Arrest Made in Southwest Miami-Dade Murder Case!

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – One of two guys accused of killing someone over the weekend in southwest Miami-Dade was taken into custody by police on Wednesday.

A story says that 27-year-old Edward Gibbs, who went by the street names “Brazie” and “Lil’ Ed,” was arrested early Wednesday morning near his home in the Princeton area.

The story says that the second suspect, 19-year-old Mekhi Jones, was still on the run.

Police say that on Saturday, the two men drove up to the home of D’Andre Dakwon Gaspard on Southwest 135th Avenue in a white Honda Accord. When they saw Gaspard, they pointed their guns at him and told him to lay down.

According to the report, the two men shot Gaspard “multiple times” as he ran into his house, and then they “forced entry” into the house.

Police say that Gaspard fought with the two men before falling in front of his girlfriend while he was already dying.

Police say that Gibbs and Jones then drove off in the Honda. Officers later found the car on Southwest 130th Avenue, in front of an apartment.

Police said that after getting a search order, they went to that apartment and found Gibbs’ “unique” hoodie that was used in the murder.

Both guys are charged with second-degree murder and breaking into a home while armed.

Gibbs was kept at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without a bail fee.
