Metro Nashville Police named the six people who died Monday when a 28-year-old woman opened fire in a Nashville, Tennessee, private school.
Monday, Nashville police released the names and ages of the people who were shot and killed. In a tweet, they said that all three of the children who were killed were only 9 years old. Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney were the children who died from gunshot wounds.
The 6 victims fatally shot by the active shooter at Covenant School are identified as: Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, all age 9, Cynthia Peak, age 61, Katherine Koonce, age 60, and Mike Hill, age 61.

Police say that Cynthia Peak, 61, Katherine Koonce, 60, and Mike Hill, 61, were the adult staff members of the Covenant School who were shot and killed by the shooter. The shooter had assault-style weapons and a handgun.
Officials say the shooter, whose name hasn’t been released yet, got into the school through a side door on Monday morning. Officials with the police said that they got a call about the shooting at 10:13 a.m. and then cleared the first floor of the school.
Soon after, officers heard gunshots coming from the second floor. When they went there, they found the shooter and shot and killed him.
Police said that the shooter died at 10:27 a.m.
In a speech on Monday afternoon, Vice President Biden called the shooting “sick,” “heartbreaking,” and “a family’s worst nightmare.”
