Shots Fired in Arlington Following Roadway Dispute

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) is investigating a shooting in the Arlington area near 7200 Merrill Rd. on Monday night, which stemmed from an argument.

JSO reported that the incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. when officers responded to a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, they found an adult man with a graze wound on his leg.

Initial reports suggest that the victim was crossing Merrill Rd. when a confrontation erupted with someone in an unidentified vehicle. After a while, the suspect got out of the vehicle a short distance away and fired several shots at the victim before fleeing.

The suspect’s description is currently unknown. The injured victim received medical attention on-site for the leg wound and was later released.
