A dramatic two-car crash in North Hollywood on Sunday night resulted in at least three persons being taken to the hospital by ambulance.

At around 6:45 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department’s medical staff responded to reports of a collision in the 11200 block of Oxnard Street, between Lankershim Boulevard and Vineland Avenue.

Fire authorities reported that one of the three casualties was momentarily trapped in their car until firemen were able to free them, though it is unclear exactly how the incident happened.

According to a news release from LAFD, two of the victims were rushed to the hospital in critical condition, and another in serious condition.

The two cars involved in the collision were seen on camera to be totally wrecked. The collision caused a lengthy field of debris that was visible on Oxnard Street.

Anthony Tadman, a longtime resident of North Hollywood who lives close to the scene of the disaster, said he heard the impact from his house and hurried outside to investigate.

“A lot of accidents on this street. It happens all the time,” he stated. “They need to put a stop sign here. I think that’s probably the best solution.”

Tadman said the crash occurred almost a block away, but one of the cars spun out of control as it was traveling down the street, ejecting the female victim.

“She was there on the street all covered in blood,” he continued. “It was a bad accident.”

The victims’ identities and the possibility that drugs or alcohol had a role in the collision have not been released by the authorities.
