After being purchased by a Chicago-based business this week, the Southern California pizza brand Fresh Brothers will now operate outside of the Golden State.
Craveworthy Brands, which runs 15 restaurant brands with 225 locations around the country, purchased Fresh Brothers.
In 2008, the well-known pizza chain set up shop in California. Since then, the business has opened stores in a number of towns, including Manhattan Beach, Burbank, El Segundo, Hollywood, and Brentwood.
According to a news release, new Fresh Brothers stores will open around the country using the franchise concept.
Gregg Majewski, CEO of Craveworthy Brands, told the L.A. Times that by March, Fresh Brothers will debut in the Chicago region and start franchising in other states.

Additionally, there are plans to open additional Fresh Brothers stores in California.
In the fast-casual dining sector, Fresh Brothers’ growth is a bit of an anomaly because other businesses, like Mod Pizza, Shake Shack, and Rubio’s Coastal Grill, have either reduced their staffs or declared bankruptcy as a result of inflation and labor cost issues.
