When the two MTA employees offered to charge his girlfriend’s cell phone during their midtown Manhattan meal break, the stranger thought they were flirting with her, so he slashed them, according to authorities on Tuesday.
Just before five a.m. on Monday, the 30-year-old MTA track worker and the 39-year-old supervisor got into an argument about food outside the Plaza Gourmet Deli at 43rd St. and Ninth Ave., according to police.
According to a police source, the employees struck up a conversation with Kaila Boncy, 28, promising to “help her charge her phone.”
