Two individuals have been apprehended in relation to a shooting incident outside a luxurious high-rise condominium in Aventura on Halloween.
As per the police, surveillance footage revealed that Kevina Ferguson, aged 27, and Nicolas Singleton, aged 38, met with a man shortly after 4 a.m. outside Turnberry on the Green, located at 19501 W. Country Club Drive.
While the man stood next to their vehicle, Singleton allegedly fired a shot at him.
When the man started running towards the building for assistance, the video depicted Singleton exiting the car, pursuing the man, and shooting him in the head, according to the police.
After Singleton turned to head back to the car, Ferguson purportedly instructed him to retrieve the man’s cellphone. Singleton returned to the man, picked up the phone from the nearby ground, and then hurried back to the car.
The two then swiftly departed.
The police traced down the owner of the car, who reportedly informed them that Singleton and Ferguson were using it at the time of the incident.
Both were subsequently located and interrogated. According to the police, both provided false statements until presented with the evidence.
According to police, investigators determined Singleton and Ferguson “acting together agreed, conspired, and confederated with each other to lure the victim to a vulnerable location and kill him. Such conspiracy was clearly of a premeditated design to cause the victim’s death and in fact, did so. Finally, following singletons killing of the victim, Ferguson aided and abetted Singleton by directing Singleton to get evidence from the crime scene that would have identified both Singleton and Ferguson.”
Singleton and Ferguson are accused of multiple charges, including first-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
