Authorities announced on Thursday that a teacher at a junior high school in Davis, Washington, is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old.

According to Centralia, Washington police, Natasha Polk, who works at Harper Junior High in Davis, California, is the subject of an investigation that was started in October 2023 regarding a possible sexual interaction with a minor pupil.

Polk is charged with giving the youngster marijuana, alcohol, and vape pens in addition to having many sexual encounters with him. According to Centralia police, the youngster had the alleged sexual encounter during his eighth-grade year and for a brief period following his middle school graduation.

Polk allegedly exploited her position as a teacher to get access to the youngster while he was detained in juvenile hall, according to Centralia police.

After Polk relocated to West Sacramento, California in 2021—a little town east of Davis—she is said to have been in touch with the boy. Later in the year, according to the police, Polk returned to Washington and stayed at an Airbnb in Tacoma, where he and the woman had sex once more.

Following an inquiry that started in October of last year, Polk’s arrest warrant was requested by the Washington authorities. Six days prior to the start of classes in the Davis Joint Unified School District, on August 20, 2024, that warrant was issued.

According to Centralia police, the investigator assigned to Polk’s case traveled to California’s south and, on August 21, apprehended Polk at her residence with the help of West Sacramento police.

Polk was still being held at the Yolo County Jail on Thursday, awaiting his return to Washington. The Davis Joint Unified School District announced that Polk had been placed on administrative leave after learning of her arrest.

A district spokesman, Maria Clayton, stated that Polk had worked for the district since August 2022. Clayton declared that the district will keep assisting law police.
