After a car accident, a high school senior lost vision in one eye. Her mother believes that a family tracking software saved her daughter’s life.

On September 20, Mother Kelly Dean was enjoying a cup of coffee on a typical morning until she received an alert on her phone. Her 18-year-old daughter, Kylee Dean, was involved in an automobile accident, according to a tracking program, according to a local news outlet.

“An alarm went off that a crash was detected with her car, and it sent me a map and said it called 911,” Kelly Dean stated.

That morning, newly licensed high school student Kylee Dean was looking forward to her senior homecoming. She claims that the sun was so brilliant that she was unable to tell if the light had changed while she was stopped at an intersection in Fairlawn, Ohio.

After pressing the gas pedal, the 18-year-old crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front of her.

“I tried to get out of the car because I was going to talk to the people I hit, but then, I realized that I was feeling dizzy and I could see the blood all over me,” Kylee Dean stated.

After being taken to the hospital quickly, she needed surgery for her right eye. Her mother claims she had severe damage to both her iris and lens.

“I can’t see at all out of this eye. It’s complete blackness. It’s been really hard to adjust to that,” Kylee Dean stated.

The 18-year-old is grateful that things weren’t worse for the time being and wants to be able to acquire a new iris and lens once her eyes heal.

“I just really want to look on the positive side, do what I can do and be happy that I can do what I can do,” she stated.

Kelly Dean, meantime, says she thinks every family should have a tracking app, particularly those whose children are just starting to drive. She claims that her app was crucial in helping her daughter receive the post-crash assistance she required.

“I don’t even know if I would have found out right away. I don’t know how I would have found out,” Kelly Dean stated.

As her mother says, Kylee Dean concurs.

“Maybe it’s annoying your parents are tracking you every moment, but in that situation, it can save your life,” she stated.
