Temple Terrace Resident Killed in I-75 NB Crash Near Brandon

A man from Temple Terrace has passed away after a crash that resulted in the closure of all northbound lanes on Interstate 75 in Brandon on Thursday afternoon.

As per the report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 11:40 a.m.

A 56-year-old woman from Clearwater was driving a Land Rover SUV when she failed to negotiate a curve on the eastbound entrance ramp from SR-618 to northbound I-75.

The FHP stated that the woman’s vehicle veered off the road and entered the access ramp, colliding with the passenger side of a Toyota SUV. Both vehicles ended up on the grass shoulder, coming to a stop in the northbound lanes of I-75.

During the collision, the Toyota SUV flipped over, and the driver, a 50-year-old man from Temple Terrace, was thrown from the vehicle. He was transported to the hospital but sadly passed away later. The 56-year-old woman was unharmed.

The northbound lanes are still closed at this time. Traffic is being redirected to State Route 60.
