After reportedly luring her longtime partner to a field and then shooting him many times, a Texas lady was recently released from prison.

In connection with the event that left 24-year-old Elvis Munoz with numerous gunshot wounds throughout his body, including a bullet in his back that remained there for months, 23-year-old Alexys Pinto is charged with one count of aggravated assault.

The shooting took place on September 5. Since then, the victim, who is in rehabilitation, has had difficulty figuring out why the violence occurred.

According to a criminal complaint filed by the Houston Police Department, Pinto was first unhappy with her boyfriend, a mechanic, on the day in question after one of his clients brought a car to their house for him to fix.

Pinto apparently became even more enraged after Munoz described the nature of his job, attempting to strike her boyfriend and successfully kicking one of their dogs in the process.

According to authorities, Munoz stopped the attack by seizing his girlfriend’s wrists and telling her to remain calm. This plea was too short, though, as Pinto allegedly insisted on knowing why Munoz touched her before suddenly changing her appearance to ask him if he remembered a certain spot where they had watched a sunset together.

Munoz would subsequently inform police that he did remember the location—a field. According to reports, Pinto demanded that he take her there right away.

According to the court complaint, Munoz pulled over the vehicle at the desired intersection of State Highway 288 and Airport Boulevard. Pinto then exited and started to flee down a slope. She allegedly yelled back, “Come here!” as Munoz beckoned to her.

So he did. He then managed to catch up with her. Then it became more bizarre. The woman allegedly asked her lover a question right before he was shot in the chest, “Teach me about deer hunting.”

Munoz then claims that Pinto lied and claimed to have shot her by calling someone on her phone. The wounded man immediately yelled that he had done nothing of the like.

Munoz pleaded with Pinto, “Call an ambulance, baby, call the ambulance.”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do you like that, I didn’t shoot you in the right places,” she allegedly responded.

Once more bewildered, Munoz remained braced for the worst. Then, as it seemed likely that Pinto was running toward the correct spot, he covered his face with his hand. He got wounded in the hand this time while defending his head.

Munoz then yelled for an ambulance once more.

After some persuasion, Pinto reportedly assisted the injured guy in getting back into his vehicle and drove him to a nearby Citgo gas station, where Munoz received the assistance he required from strangers.

After an unrelated disturbance call revealed the existence of an aggravated assault warrant, Pinto was taken into custody on September 20.

The case’s initial bail of $75,000 was recently reduced to $10,000. First requesting $50,000 bail, the authorities later increased its demand to $1 million.

According to Houston-based ABC station KTRK, Pinto was released from jail the same day Munoz was shot. The victim now claims that he worries about his friends’ and family’s safety. No explanation for the violence has been offered by law officials.
