The Colorado dentist whose trial has been postponed is accused of poisoning his wife’s protein shakes and murdering her. The lawyers for James Craig left the case on Thursday, claiming a “professional conflict.”
The trial in the murder case has been postponed, and jury selection was supposed to start on Thursday. The 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office reports that a hearing for appearance of counsel is scheduled for December 16.
Craig entered a not guilty plea to charges of first-degree murder and killing his wife by adding poison to her protein shakes.
Craig, who started an affair prior to his wife’s death on March 18, 2023, was accused by police of looking up answers to inquiries like “Is arsenic detectable in an autopsy?” online. as also “How to make murder look like a heart attack.”
According to Arapahoe County coroner Kelly Lear, Angela Craig, a mother of six and a 23-year married couple, died from cyanide and tetrahydrozoline poisoning. Tetrahydrozoline was a chemical present in over-the-counter eye drops.
Investigators claim that on March 6, 2023, Craig, who frequently prepared protein shakes for his wife, attempted to poison her shake with arsenic.

According to court filings, Craig ordered a quick shipment of potassium cyanide after she survived, claiming the supplier required it for a procedure.
According to the arrest affidavit, Craig’s dental practice partner told a nurse that Craig had bought potassium cyanide even though they didn’t need it for their job, which prompted the start of the inquiry.
According to the police, Craig was having an affair while his wife was receiving medical attention in the hospital.
