Texas Woman Shoots and Kills Man Accused of Drugging and Kidnapping

Authorities say a woman contacted 911 for assistance, claiming to have shot her captor, and that on Friday, the guy from Texas was discovered dead.

The 45-year-old Montgomery resident reported to the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office that she had shot someone after being drugged and kidnapped when she contacted 911 at 12:40 p.m.

The woman’s location was initially unknown, but she was later located by deputies close to a winery in the 10800 block of East US Highway 290.

The woman then discussed the car and the weapon used with the cops.

According to the sheriff’s office, a deputy discovered a male who seemed to be dead in the front seat area of the car when he discovered it parked in the outside lane of westbound traffic. Subsequently, officials declared the individual deceased.

The man was recognized by the sheriff’s office as 49-year-old Lance Damon Reid, who had been living in the Houston area. Reid’s death and no other information were immediately made available.

The woman was interviewed by an investigator at a nearby hospital as she was being transported there. The woman’s condition was not immediately updated by the authorities.

The investigation is still ongoing, according to the sheriff’s office, and no more details will be provided at this time.
