About 11 miles outside Portland, Oregon, a tiny plane collided with a row of townhomes next to a municipal airport, resulting in the deaths of three persons, according to officials.

Local officials reported that the incident on Saturday knocked out a neighboring transmission line, setting off a fire in townhomes and leaving roughly 9,000 people without electricity.

According to local media sources, one townhouse occupant was reported missing, and a local fire official confirmed that there were two individuals on the plane.

Multiple people were injured in the accident, according to Lewis and Multnomah County Sheriff’s Deputy John Plock.

Plock also reported that there were multiple collision sites due to the scattered wreckage from the downed twin-engine Cessna 421C. There are now five separated families.

Saturday night, National Transportation Safety Board investigators were on the scene, trying to take pictures of the wreckage and remove it from the area.
