On Sunday night, three teenagers were shot and injured on the Near West Side, a short distance from the United Center.

The victims were hit by gunshot in the 100 block of North Wolcott Avenue, close to Maypole Avenue, about 6:56 p.m., according to police.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred during what appeared to be an attempted robbery outside the United Center, right before Chicago rapper Lil Durk was set to perform.

A 15-year-old youngster had a grazing cut to his abdomen after being hit in the hand. He was said to be in good health. One man, aged 18, was hit in the chest, while another, aged 19, was hit in the ribs. According to reports, both were in severe condition.

Police reported that all of the patients were sent to Cook County’s Stroger Hospital.

Following the shooting, it seemed that police officers were walking after a potential suspect outside the United Center.

Lil Durk gave a performance at the United Center on Sunday night for his First Annual Birthday Bash. It was still unclear late Sunday if the victims were headed to the Lil Durk show.

The outcome of a police probe was street blockades that ensnared many concertgoers. On Sunday night, no one was in arrest while police tried to piece together what had happened before the shooting.
