Tragic Collision Claims Life of 36-Year-Old Man in South Bay

SOUTH BAY — A man aged 36 passed away on Sunday, thirteen days following a collision in South Bay where the car’s driver, potentially due to falling asleep, was involved. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reported this on Monday.

The deceased individual, Lincoln Strachan, hailed from Davenport, Florida, in Polk County. He was a passenger in a 2012 Hyundai Accent, driven by George Lawson, 41, from Altamonte Springs. The vehicle was traveling in a northerly direction on U.S. 27.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene at 13899 U.S. 27 at 10:20 p.m. on August 14th. Lawson’s car struck an orange barricade, causing him to overcorrect to the right, leading the vehicle to veer off the road onto the shoulder. This resulted in the car colliding with the guardrail and subsequently overturning.

Following the incident, Strachan was transported to Delray Medical Center. Lawson sustained minor injuries, as indicated by the crash report.
