Officials said on Monday that a fire at a south Sacramento apartment building claimed the lives of a father and a kid.
A little after 3:45 p.m., the Stonegate Apartments on Mack Road caught fire, prompting the Sacramento Fire Department to arrive.
When firefighters got there, they saw that two second-story apartments were emitting flames.
Authorities claimed that there were huge flames in the living room that had extended to the bedroom and other portions of the apartment where the two were discovered dead.
