WPBN: In the early hours of Sunday morning, two women were shot and injured while driving in the north suburban area of Lake County, which resulted in various police pursuits of the individuals accused of carrying out the shooting.
At approximately two in the morning, deputies from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to the vicinity of Green Bay Road and Bonnie Brook Lane in Beach Park after receiving a complaint of a shooting and a car accident, according to the police.
In a ditch, deputies discovered a car that had sustained significant damage and two women who had been shot inside the vehicle.
A woman was shot in the eye, and another woman was wounded in the leg. Both women were injured. A deputy used a tourniquet to apply pressure to the leg of the woman. Both women were transported to a nearby hospital, where it was anticipated that they would prevail.
The victims had just left a pub in North Chicago and were on their way home on Green Bay Road when a gray Dodge drove up beside their vehicle, according to the information that investigators gathered. A automobile belonging to the victims was shot at by people who were inside the Dodge. Shell casings were discovered at the area in multiple quantities.
Deputies disseminated information about the vehicle under investigation through a regional broadcast. After approximately thirty minutes had passed, a Waukegan police officer came across a gray Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat that was identical to the description of the vehicle that was missing.
While officers were attempting to pull over the vehicle on Sunset Avenue, the driver sped away and managed to avoid the authorities.
At around 2:41 in the morning, a deputy with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office discovered the vehicle in question heading southbound on Route 41 close to Route 173. Despite the deputy’s efforts to bring the vehicle to a stop, the driver continued to speed away.
As the car performed a U-turn on Sterns School Road and continued on Route 41 in the direction of the northern direction, the deputy chased it. As it sped away, the suspicious vehicle still managed to avoid the cops.
