The host of “Varney & Co.” Stuart Varney talked about the issue surrounding White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s performance on the job during his “My Take” segment on Wednesday. He claimed identity politics had a significant influence in Jean-Pierre’s appointment and that President Biden is currently bearing the consequences.
STUART VARNEY: The White House could cross three items off its list with Karine Jean-Pierre.

- Political identity was a major factor in her appointment.
- For a job this size, her experience was pitiful.
She had previously served as President Obama’s political advisor and an MSNBC political analyst. She was in charge of communications for the far-left website moveon.org.
However, it is certain that she was never exposed to the White House press corps. She is not credible. She was evasive in her responses to questioning from reporters.
Often, it’s difficult to make out exactly what she’s said. Her appointment was based on her identity rather than her abilities. Presidents are free to make those political decisions, but they must accept the repercussions.
The president is currently running a fierce reelection campaign. Karine Jean-Pierre’s cognitive abilities are being severely strained, and she is not faring well.
For that reason, John Kirby has been elevated to the position of “assistant to the president.” He’ll be in front of you at the podium a lot more.
This is a challenging circumstance. The 49-year-old Black female is subordinated to the 60-year-old White male Kirby.
It’s an acknowledgment that while identity politics can lead to diversity, it doesn’t always result in effective outcomes.
