A member of the deadly Venezuelan gang now active in Tennessee is charged in Operation Crime and Justice with involvement in a Chattanooga human trafficking scheme.
The TBI issued a warning earlier this month about the expanding TDA gang in Tennessee’s largest cities.
Adelvis Rodriguez-Carmona is the man that was taken into custody in Chattanooga. He is well-known for belonging to the violent group Tren de Aragua. He has a history of violence in New York City and Chicago.
Governor Bill Lee stated that, “The TBI has determined, and discovered, and has enough intelligence to know where these folks are operating and are beginning to make arrests. We hope that they that they can finish that job.”
With a new government in place next year, Governor Lee anticipates greater improvements. To address these concerns in 2025, the TBI has requested additional funding in the interim.
When asked, “Any update on the budget request?”
Governor Lee responded that, “We’ll be processing budget requests over the next six weeks before the budget is due, but we’ll look hard at TBI’s requests.”
Although they gave little information, the TBI stated on November 15th that the TDA operated in Knoxville, Memphis, Chattanooga, and Nashville.
Since then, we have repeatedly called the TBI to get further details about arrests and the precise locations of this gang’s operations, but they have not responded.
The Sentinel Foundation’s Matthew Murphy said, “Yes, the public does need to know details.”
Since 2020, Murphy, who resides in Middle Tennessee, has been combating child trafficking and exploitation. It began when his sister was slain after being abducted in Memphis.

Murphy stated that, “The cartel is more sophisticated than our own government.” He now targets traffickers by collaborating with law police and governors across the country.
