A woman in Lauderhill was critically stabbed during a domestic incident on Saturday night; the incident is being looked into by police.
According to Lauderhill Police, a couple got into a fight at a house close to NW 12th Street and NW 58th Avenue, and it got worse until the male stabbed the woman.
When Lauderhill Fire Rescue arrived at a residence, they took the critically ill woman—who has not been named—to Broward Health Medical Center.
Police verified that the suspected stabber turned himself in to the Lauderhill Police Department after leaving the scene before they could arrive.
Derrick Woodard, who the police believe was in a relationship with the victim at the time, was named as the stabbing suspect.

A neighbor who wished to remain anonymous to NBC6 said that he observed the suspect arrive home and left a short while later while he was working in his yard outside.
Before another neighbor contacted 911, the woman’s daughter, according to a neighbor, went outdoors and cried out, “He stabbed my mom.”
The woman was characterized by a different neighbor as a hard worker who kept to herself, a good mother, and a grandma.
Woodard is being held without bond in the Main Jail of the BSO. On Sunday, he is scheduled to appear in bond court.
