According to prisoner records, a lady who was charged with attempting to drown a three-year-old Muslim and Palestinian toddler in a Texas apartment complex pool has been taken into custody again.
Elizabeth Wolf, 42, was charged with attempted capital murder of a person under ten years old and injury to a child. She was detained on May 19 in relation to the allegations in the Euless, Texas, region. She was freed after posting bail.
According to Euless police Capt. Brenda Alvarado, she was placed back under arrest after having her bond for the attempted capital murder charge raised to $1 million during a subsequent bond hearing on June 27. Inmate records indicated that Wolf remained under detention on Tuesday.
According to Alvarado, the event is being looked into as a possible hate crime.
The case has been forwarded to the Tarrant County district attorney’s office, and the investigation is still ongoing, according to the police.
A docket indicates that October 17 is the court date.
At an apartment complex pool in Euless on May 19, witnesses told police that “a woman who was very intoxicated had tried to drown a child and argued with the child’s mother,” according to a news release from the police.
As Wolf attempted to flee, officers approached her, and they detained her on suspicion of intoxication in public, according to the police.
According to the news release, the mother of the child informed authorities that Wolf was inquiring about the child’s origins and whether the two kids were her own. The family is Muslim and Palestinian, and the mother was dressed modestly in swimwear and a headscarf, according to the Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Wolf allegedly screamed racial slurs and said the mother wasn’t an American, according to the police.
“When the mother answered her … Wolf tried to grab her 6-year-old son but he pulled away from her grasp, which caused a scratch on his finger. The mother began helping her son when Wolf grabbed her 3-year-old daughter and forced her underwater,” police stated.
According to the police press release, the daughter “had been yelling for help and was coughing up water” when the mother took her out of the water.
CAIR-Texas applauded the move to re-arrest Wolf in a statement released on Monday.
“The affected family and the American Muslim community are temporarily relieved to know the alleged perpetrator is in custody again. We thank local and the federal law enforcement for the rearrest and the progress in the case investigation,” CAIR-Texas Operations Manager Shaimaa Zayan stated.
