A Wellington Community High School student will stay in juvenile detention because he or she is accused of making a threat online.
When the 14-year-old student went before a Palm Beach County judge on Thursday, WPTV was there.
The judge said the student shouldn’t have any access to phones, social media, weapons, or Wellington Community High School. He or she also shouldn’t have any contact with the school.
Lawyers said that he used to go to a virtual school and that he just started at Wellington Community High School a few days ago.
The principal of the school said that there would be more police on campus on Thursday “to calm any worries that students and staff may have.”
