A 26-year-old Florida man was caught in Georgia after he and a 16-year-old girl ran away from a beach resort.
Albert Tsygurov, who is 26 and from Miami, was charged with interfering with a child. He is expected to be sent back to Monroe County, Florida, where he will be tried.
At about 9:22 p.m. Saturday, a family member of the teen girl called the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
The family member said that Tsygurov did not have permission to take the girl out of the Marathon lodge.
During a phone call, Tsygurov told a family member that they would not be able to find him or the child because he had changed the license plate on his car, was using cash instead of credit cards, and was working on getting fake ID.
Detectives from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office for Major Crimes found out quickly that the teen and the suspect were most likely in Adel, Georgia or close by.
911 Communications Specialists at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office worked closely with 911 Communications Specialists in Georgia. Soon, police in Georgia found the child and the suspect at a motel.
Tsygurov at first refused, but he was taken into arrest quickly.
In Georgia, he is being charged with blocking the work of the law. The child was put in care for his or her own safety. No major accidents were said to have happened.
